What is the LPECCUL AGM?
The AGM (Annual General Meeting) is one of the most important moments in the life of our Credit Union. It is where members come together to review the past year, shape the year ahead, and exercise their voice in how LPECCUL is governed.
As a true co-operative, we are owned by our members. The AGM is your opportunity to see how your Credit Union is performing, ask questions, and take part in decisions that affect our future.

Who Can Attend?

All financial members of LPECCUL are invited and encouraged to attend the AGM. Once you are in good standing, the AGM is your meeting. You have the right to:

– Hear how your Credit Union has performed
– Ask questions of the Board and Management
– Vote on key matters
– Participate in elections

Whether you have been a member for 30 years or 3 months, your presence matters.

What Happens at the AGM?

At the AGM, members will:

– Receive reports on the Credit Union’s performance and financial health
– Hear updates on key projects, growth areas, and strategic direction
– Review audited financial statements
– Vote on resolutions and important matters
– Elect members to the Board of Directors and Committees

The AGM is where transparency, accountability, and co-operative democracy come to life.

Becoming a Board or Committee Member

LPECCUL is powered by members who are willing to serve. If you are passionate about people, community, and financial empowerment, you may be eligible to contribute at a leadership level.

Members can put themselves forward to serve on:

– The Board of Directors
– Supervisory Committee
– Credit Committee
– Other appointed committees

Serving gives you the opportunity to:

– Help guide the direction of your Credit Union
– Develop leadership and governance skills
– Make a meaningful impact on members’ lives
– Strengthen our co-operative for future generations

Information on eligibility, nominations, and the process to apply is shared in the lead-up to the AGM. Our team is always available to guide interested members.

Nominate a Member?
LPECCUL members who are interested in nominating a fellow member to serve on the Board of Directors or on a Committee are encouraged to participate in the Credit Union’s annual nominations process ahead of each AGM. The Credentials Committee invites nominations from the membership, and eligible members may submit a Consent to Serve as an Officer form along with the required regulatory documentation.

Nominees must meet the Credit Union’s governance and fitness requirements and be willing to commit their time and skills in service to the membership. This open and transparent process ensures that leadership remains member-driven and that every member has the opportunity to help shape the future of their Credit Union.

Available Positions?

Two key leadership bodies were filled at this year’s AGM, each playing a vital role in the governance, accountability, and future growth of the Credit Union.

The Board of Directors is responsible for setting LPECCUL’s strategic direction, guiding policy, and ensuring the Credit Union remains financially sound, innovative, and member-focused. The Board works closely with management to drive growth, approve major initiatives, and safeguard the long-term sustainability of the organisation, ensuring that every decision aligns with the best interests of the membership.

The Supervisory Committee serves as an independent watchdog on behalf of members, ensuring that operations, governance, and financial practices are carried out in accordance with policy, regulation, and best practice. Through oversight and review, the committee helps uphold transparency, integrity, and accountability, reinforcing member confidence and protecting the trust placed in the Credit Union.
